Kappa systems provide small to large retail practices versatile, state-of -the art finishing technology. Completely integrated, Kappa Systems consist of a tracer and blocker and an automatic patternless edger. Available with either the standard Kappa Tracer and Blocker for basic manual centering or the New Kappa CT Tracer and Blocker for the latest in automatic centering and blocking. KappaSPX Edger is also available to edge all types of lens materials.Kappa Systems offer unparalleled speed and accuracy. Kappa Systems employ many exclusive technologies such as 4-D tracing, tilted grooving, and soft pin beveling. Because Kappa Systems are harmonized to work with several communication protocols, they can be configured for most finishing departments.

TRACE
Advanced tracing software provides the most precise frame tracing available using 4-D control, capturing A, B, frame curve elevation, and frame groove profile. With Kappa's patented High Performance Mode, the 4th dimension, frame groove profile, can be measured to further optimize fitting challenging frame shapes and materials. And to satisfy the latest design trends, Kappa Systems process B sized down to 18mm. This combination of measurements yields highly accurate sizing, decreases breakage and increases finish quality.

AUTO CENTER
New CT Model Only
After the tracing cycle is complete, the operator simply places the lens, in any orientation, inside the centering chamber and lets Kappa CT do the rest. After the operator enters the patient specific information, Kappa CT analyzes the lens and locates the blocking target in 5 seconds. Depending on the lens type, Kappa CT moves the blocking target to the relative optical center, segment or fitting cross.

AUTO BLOCK
New CT Model Onl
y
Once Kappa CT locates the optical center, segment or fitting cross, the operator places a block on the loading station, and the blocking arm automatically picks up the block and correctly orients it onto the lens, eliminating any manual de-centering or information input from the operator.

BLOCK
Standard Kappa Model
After the tracing cycle is complete, the operator enters the patient information, then places the lens in the blocking chamber. A video camera captures and displays an image of the lens, without parallax, on a large full-color digital screen along with a superimposed frame shape. The operator manually aligns the lens on the target, verifies for cutout, then inserts a block in the blocker arm for an automatic application to the lens.

MAP
Two probles simultaneously map the contours to the lens' surfaces to determine lens curvature and edge thickness, ensuring proper lens cutout and optimizing both bevel and groove placement. Placement can be automatic or the operator can make custom modifications.

EDGE
Kappa SPX edges all materials - glass, CR39®, hi- index, polycarbonate, and Trivex® - as well as edge polish bevels and flats with unmatched speed and accuracy. And for those delicate jobs with performance coatings, Kappa offers the exclusive EAS cycle - a special cycle for handling fragile or antireflective coated jobs.
Automatic bevel slection allows Kappa
SPX to quickly edge most lenses by calculating optimal bevel placement from furnished data. More difficult or specialty lenses can be controlled using a number of customized bevel options including front curve, percentage, or a simple rimless.

POLISH
Three groove widths and kepths ensure an optimal fit. KappaSPX uses a patented grooving design to precisely locate grooves on very thin lenses. Compare groove quality, no other system can track a groove as consistently as KappaSPX edger.

PIN BEVEL AND GROOVE
Patented, soft pin beveling feature accommodates all lens sizes including small frames down to 18mm. Soft pin beveling eliminates the need for any manual pin beveling, reducing lens handling and decreasing the potential for spoilage or breakage. With this new feature consistency, control and quality greatly improve.
